The winemaking tradition of the Péré Vergé family dates back to 1985, the year when Catherine Péré purchased Château Montviel in Pomerol, Bordeaux, France, and laid the foundations for an exceptional legacy. Over the years, she purchased and developed La Violette and Le Gay, among others, showing her passion for wine and her strong commitment towards quality. Seeking new challenges, in 1998 Catherine ventured into Argentina. Invited by Michel Rolland, she was part of Clos de los Siete creation and started her own winery, Monteviejo, that combines French exquisiteness with the charm of the New World. Today, her daughter, Helene Parent, and her granddaughter, Elise Treiber, maintain her dream alive passionately and enthusiastically. Monteviejo wines are the result of meticulous vineyard labor and oenological comprehension of soils, weather conditions and the terroir of the Uco Valley.
